Vietnamese food is...... Unlike anything I've ever had. Is that bad or good? Neither. Just different. Visited Pho Real for the first time for dinner with a friend. The waiter was very patient with us, knowing nothing about the food. I ordered the bird's nest. It was noodles that were hard shaped into a bird's nest. On top of the noodles are different meats, vegetables, and a slimyish gravy. You need the gravy to make the noodles soft. As far as taste, it wasn't strong and was similar to what you might have in a light Chinese dish. The texture of the gravy threw me for a loop. Nothing remarkable, good or bad. The spring rolls are different as they are wrapped in rice paper, not fried and are very fresh. While they may not look appetizing, it's like a mini salad rolled up in an easily edible format. I'll be back one day to try other things on the menu.
