A friend recommended this place and I'm glad she did because I would have walked right by it if I'd been on my own. On first glance it seems commercial with big racks of baked goods. But after tasting a couple of the items that were recommended by my friend and the fellow at the counter I could see that I would have misjudged the place. They do have some samples at the front counter and you can always ask for suggestions but I found the quality fairly consistent across the items that I tried so I'd suggest following your gut and trying any item you think sounds good. I'll be back to try their Elizabeth cake and also buy the big bread that was recommended to me.
A few things to know...you can order coffee here if you want (I didn't try it), they do have sandwhiches (I didn't try one), and they have more savory breads than sweets. Also, the breads range in price from about $2 to $5....they are good but they are not the cheap stuff you can buy at the grocery store.
