3.5 stars - Great International beer selection but lacking in smaller craft beer selections.
As soon as I walked in I recognized some of the staff - they work on and off at the Town Crier pub. When our server brought the beer menu, I quickly realized it was largely the same as Town Crier. Turns out both pubs are under the same ownership.
The pub is a little older than the Town Crier and is starting to show it's age. I do like that all the windows open up (like a garage doors) so the restaurant has a real open feel and a nice breeze in the summer. You have an interesting view of the church across the street and a broad mix of folks walking by.
Service was fantastic. We were greeted as soon as we walked in and brought to a nice table by the large open windows. Our server was quick to take our multiple drink orders.
Many beers on tap and arranged on the beer menu by Country. I enjoyed some Grimbergen, Maredsous Brune and Hacker-Pschorr lager. My fellow yelper ordered Fruli and Liefmans Fruitesse (yup - chick beers). Good selection of German beers.
They had an excellent bottle selection of Belgian beers but nothing was in stock - I gave up after asking for four different beers. How could everything be out of stock? They loose one star here.
I didn't try the food but it looked like average pub grub, maybe next time.
Not sure I will be a regular here given that Thirsty and Miserable and Bar Hop are in close proximity and have much better craft beer options.
PS - Crazy steep stairs to the washroom. Be careful if you had a few to many....
