| - After a few months of using Groovy Maid, I'm switching to another cleaning service. The cleanings themselves (when the cleaner showed up) were usually at least okay, but the scheduling issues just kept getting worse and worse. Cleaners would routinely no-show or cancel last minute, which is annoying by itself, but it's especially irritating when you have guests arriving the next day. To me, not knowing whether my house will actually be cleaned on a certain day negates the whole point of having a cleaner.
My other big issue is that the cleaner changed several times, so I couldn't establish a relationship with anyone. This meant either staying home to let a stranger into my apartment every week (assuming they showed up, which was about a 50/50 bet), or giving out my door code to a new stranger every week (thanks but no thanks). In their defense, they also seemed frustrated with the owner and general organization of the business. I'd like for this company to thrive, but I don't think it's going to happen unless they hire a consultant or (even better) a full-time staff person to get their scheduling system into shape.
Editing to address Jess's comments: There was also a cleaner before Ariana (a young woman whose name I don't remember), and a no-show by a fourth cleaner (Will). Thanks for providing details on the employee background check; I deleted my question related to that issue.
