| - I popped into Kyklops Tattoo on a Sunday afternoon to see 1) if they had time to give me a tattoo and 2) how much they charged as a minimum ($60). After I checked with them, I went to South Side Tattoo on the next block to check with them as well, but was completely put off by their facility and somewhat rude service. I went back to Kyklops and Richie agreed to tattoo me since his appointment didn't show up. I got a very simple tattoo on the back of my left shoulder and requested NO shading or color. I could feel Richie tattooing the simple lines, but then started feeling small strokes. I thought he was shading, but nah, I told him not to, right? After he was done, he said that he shaded in a bit to add contrast. Uh what?! I specifically told him not to, and he even said "Ok, got it" after. When I looked at the tattoo, it did look very nice with the shading and the contrast looked great. Overall, I'm very happy with how my tattoo turned out as well as with the friendliness of the artists. BUT I'm giving 3 stars because my tattoo was shaded in when I had very clearly said that I didn't want shading. Yes, I love how it turned out, but what if I didn't like it? It's a tattoo, aka permanent!
