I recently visited Lakeview Cemetery to see the Garfield Memorial. There are signs pointing to the memorial. It's a large sandstone turret that has been discolored by pollution and acid rain.
The memorial itself is very interesting. It has a large rotunda with a statue of President Garfield. Beneath the rotunda is the burial place of Garfield. He and his wife are layed out on two large slabs, only in coffins. It was interesting to see them only in coffins and not buried.
If you go to the memorial check the floor for a giant swastika. It's right in the middle of the floor. I guess it was from a time that the swastikas were positive symbols of peace and luck.
