  • This review is based on feedback my mom gave me after she came back from Minus 417 Dead Sea Spa. I bought a $69 Groupon for her for mother's day. 1) First thing my mom commented on was how VERY dirty the place is, and how small the spa itself is. I have driven by their huge sign on hwy 7 many times and that was honestly what sold me on buying the Groupon. DO NOT BE FOOLED BY IT! 2) The facial is just a cleansing, blackhead extraction, mask, and collagen serum. There was no facial massage with the facial. Worst part is BLACKHEAD EXTRACTION WAS BY HAND!!! My mom said they used a tissue, but if you're cheaping out on an extractor which can be as little as $10, what does it say about your company? Not to mention that the tissue can rip and God knows what germs and dirt is under her nails or if she even washed her hands between servicing multiple clients. GROSS! However, my mom did comment that the mocha mask was very good and she did see and improvement in her skin after it. Would have given it another star for that but see point 4. 3) Improperly trained staff? According to my mom, their massage and facial techniques were not proficient. See point 2. 4) My mom was told that a 20-30% tip is EXPECTED. When my mom was done her spa package, the receptionist told her she had to pay tax and a 20-30% gratuity is expected and handed my mom a small envelope. Minus 417, take this 1-star rating as a tip.
