Beautiful, historic hotel. We stayed here on our trip to Toronto. The hotel has beautiful marble and an impressive lobby and staircase. We peeked into the many ballrooms and they are classically beautiful.
Centrally located right downtown with the subway less than a 5 minute walk away. It is a 10 minute walk to St Lawrence Market, a huge grocery store, coffee, restaurants and pharmacies; many amenities.
Service was fantastic and staff professional and cordial. We traveled with our baby & stroller and they helped lift the stroller up & down the hotel steps everytime.
We had a King room with an adjacent sitting area. King bed, sheets and comfortable deliciously soft and comfortable. The room was on the 6th floor facing the street and did not hear an noise. Over 8' ceilings made the room feel huge. Modern flat, screen TV and mini-bar made our stay nicer, but yes, they should upgrade on the wireless in the rooms. BUT we didn't mind so much as it made us hang out in the beautiful lobby.
They need to spruce up the business table/center in the lobby with flowers and/or nicer lamp lighting to soften up odd feeling of a work station in the middle of this gorgeous lobby.
Our stay here was wonderful and highly recommend it. Our visit was extra special staying in this hotel as we got to pretend to live the luxurious downtown Toronto lifestyle. This is a very unique, gorgeous and historical hotel that will make your stay in Toronto even more memorable.
