Frozen custard has become a lot more prominent on the culinary scene in recent years. People may confuse custard and ice cream but they're not the same. The major difference is in the use of eggs, which gives custard its distinctive texture and flavor.
Jarling's custard is a fantastic example of a high quality icy treat. The product is outstanding, whether you're sampling one of their many standard flavors (vanilla, chocolate, lemon, strawberry) or one of their rotating choices. Plain ole' custard can be had in a cup, cone or waffle cone. I also like their confections; the Snowstorm (think blended drink like a DQ Blizzard) with vanilla custard and Heath bar chunks is my personal favorite. They also have an amazing variety of Snowstorm flavors from blueberry cobbler to key lime cheesecake. You can also get a sundae or float if you prefer.
The only major downer of this location is that it is so dang busy most of the time. Be prepared to navigate the lines, but it is well worth the wait.
