| - If you want to sleep, stay somewhere else. It's a party hotel, and poorly run. After checking in, we found a large, open blade knife sitting on a table on the fourth floor. Gave it to the front desk clerk who seemed indifferent. We should have seen that as a sign, packed up, and stayed elsewhere.
Nope.
It's 1:20am, and the party's still raging four floors down, at Lago, attached to the Aloft, and clearly coexisting with Aloft, despite front desk clerk Patrick's adamant attempt to convince me that the two aren't connected. Patrick is, sadly, zero help. He has zero authority except to take your money.
We screwed up. We came here thinking this was a hotel that offered a decent night's sleep. Silly us.
Never staying here again.
Update: The party ended at 2:45am. In the morning, Patrick had deducted just over $100 from our bill. We appreciate that gesture, and will let our complaint with Starwood corporate stand. And still won't return. Starwood would be smart to distance themselves from the Aloft chain. It's a hotel that can't deliver its basic offering: a place to SLEEP.
