| - One of my favorite Hilton stays in recent memory. We had a standard double queen room with a decent view of the city and access to the executive lounge. Gotta love the HH program and perks!
What stood out to me was the level and quality of service. I was in Toronto for a conference that was happening at the Fairmont Royal York a few blocks away and so I wanted to grab breakfast quickly and go. One of the staff members at the breakfast buffet could see I was in a hurry and gave me a nice cardboard box and told me to just fill it up with everything I want while in the meantime she got the "bill" (I had free breakfast vouchers) ready for my signature, along with a plastic bag and some plastic utensils for me while I loaded up on noms. It was very sweet of her and she was incredibly efficient and all around helpful.
The breakfast spread is also a sight to behold, far better than what I'm used to getting at American Hiltons. Unlimited hot food options including bacon, sausage, single egg bennies, small sammies, as well as eggs made-to-order, fruit, cereal, cheese, pastries, bagels, yogurt, etc. Breakfast every morning was definitely something to look forward to. There was also happy hour discounted drinks with alcohol-friendly snacks available every night. There is also a Starbucks in the building too, but with my breakfast vouchers I never had to buy coffee.
As with all Hiltons, I'm a fan of their room service and food menu. We ordered buffalo wings and the sauce had a great bite to it and our order came with plenty of ranch dressing and a heap of sliced carrots and celery stalks. It's a good amount of food and as far as room service goes, you don't get completely ripped off because of the portions.
The gym isn't large but it's adequate and includes cardio machines, weight machines, and free weights. Plenty of towels and water, good ventilation, and each machine had a mini-TV, if I recall correctly.
And of course, the location was ideal--we were able to walk across the street to check out the Momofuku building, took a nice stroll all the way to the CN tower and to the ferry area, and pretty much walked everywhere we needed to get to.
I highly recommend this Hilton - as well as the Double Tree not too far away, if you need a slightly cheaper option - for a Toronto stay!
