We so wanted to love Fuego. We love local and live very close. We had been a few years ago before we moved to the neighborhood and had an ok experience but wanted to love it so we went back again. The hostess was rude which was not a great start. Our server was friendly but inexperienced (which honestly would have been fine if all the other things were good). The food was mediocre at best and the atmosphere was pretty depressing. When I asked the hostess (who was refilling our waters) if she would mind getting me a straw she said she would try and then never came back. The guac tasted like the prepackaged guac from Trader Joes, the Ahi was tough, bland and mushy all at once, and the corn reminded me of canned creamed corn that I ate when I was little. There was great music outside but it was too hot to be out there was no music inside. The staff seemed miserable and bitter. I'm so sad that this place with such a cool inspiration was such a disappointment.
