My friends and I stopped at the Cask & Ale and immediately walked out and into this place, hoping to find a more townie vibe. Greeted by a waft of what smelled like paint thinner and Old Milwaukee, we cautiously entered the establishment and sat at the rather empty bar. I wasn't expecting much, and was thinking I'd just get one drink and head back to our hotel, but the bartender was SO friendly and informative about all things "Sconnie" that we stayed for a few hours, lots of conversation, and local beers. I super enjoyed my time at this place, thanks to the friendly bartender (who's name I cannot remember!!). This place is welcoming and classic and so unpretentious that you'll dig it immediately if you're aching for some authenticity in this town.
