| - this was an awesome hike! we had been wanting to go on this hike for a while and finally thought since the weather was like 74 degrees on a sunny february day we may as well take advantage and just do it... we got to the parking spot around 11:30, easy enuff to find off anthem parkway... when we got to the trailhead, checkin out the posted map was a little confusing, but we figured it out and off we started to the highest peak 'the summit' i believe its called.... the begining of the trail is easy peasy and u can look back on the vegas skyline to see how much uve climbed in such a short amt of time... after about an hr and a half in tho, it starts gettn so small that u really cant gauge it by the skyline anymore and uve already passed up the huge water tanks... and then u pass the broadcasting antennas u kno ur high!!! the last part of the hike is pretty steel... maybe abt the last 1/2 mile i wana say... but its so worth it to make it to the top!! overall it took us roughly 4 hrs. round trip, however, we stopped at the top of course to sign in the notebooks, take in the awesome view, say a quick prayer of gratitude, enjoy a snack n one more bottle of water... then started our trek down... we had a 10mi bike ride planned for that evening, but after we got home, showered and sat down we quickly realized we werent going anywhere! lol, good workout... good views... good fun!!!
