  • I went to Citra for a blow out and asked for big, voluminous curls and lots of volume in general, and showed my stylist a picture of a style with lots of volume at the crown. My stylist washed my hair and proceeded to blow drying. So far so good. After a while I noticed that my hair was almost completely dry but she still wasn't round brushing, so I asked if she will be doing that since I had asked for volume and in the past other stylists have always round brushed. She said don't worry the styling products will give me the volume. I was skeptical but gave her the benefit of the doubt. She proceeded to curling my hair and by the time she was done my "voluminous curls" looked more like beachy waves (which I could've done myself at home) and the hair at the crown was still as flat as when I walked in. She had to tease the hair at the crown to give it whatever little volume it could get, but of course it is very difficult to inject volume after the fact. I don't know if this happened because she didn't know how to style for volume or because she didn't want to take the time or effort to round brush my hair (I have very long hair so it would have taken a while and I was her last appointment in the day). Overall I was very disappointed - for $50+ after t/t I expected a lot more.
