Tempe Beach Park hosted a festival on September 26th called Summer Ends Music Festival. Although the weather was hot and unpleasant, the atmosphere was the opposite. All of staff members were friendly, including the vendors and security. The people that attended matched the positive attitude of all the staff. Since the weather was so hot and everyone was packed in the area, water was essential. The security guards generously passed around water to keep everyone hydrated, and all the fans cooperated by passing the water bottles back to everyone in the audience.
The location of the festival was a big factor in what made this experience so enjoyable. The streets were easy to maneuver and the festival location was simple to find. It was right next to Tempe Town Lake and the lighted bridge over the lake. Although parking was 15 dollars, it was conveniently placed across the street from the festival. Since there were so many fans attending the event, it was located in a large venue so the population wasn't too compact and crowded.
The various different artists and genres of music provided a diverse range of fans. This allowed me to see an assortment of unfamiliar cultures. Even though I went to the festival to hear hip hop music, I surprisingly enjoyed some of the other bands. This festival helped me discover new music I didn't know I appreciated. The performer I was most excited for was J Cole who exceeded all my expectations.
Even though the drive was far, I was impressed with the concert overall because it exposed me to different cultures through the atmosphere, location, and diverse range of artists.
