| - Awful experience with AAA. Flat tire. The tow truck driver overtightened the lug nut, stripping the threads on the tire stem. So it's off to the tire shop where they have to cut the tire stem off just to remove the spare. Then, off to another auto repair where they replace the tire stem. Then, back to the tire shop. So far, I'm not angry - it's just a mistake. Next , I file a claim for reimbursement and two weeks later a guy calls from AAA and leaves a message with no information about why he's calling. I don't hear from him again, so I send an email to membership services last night at 1:30am (working late for a big project today) and then 7:20am this morning he calls - to verify my address! This can't wait till after 8am? Seriously, after a month of waiting for my reimbursement, you've gotta call me at 7:20am to verify my address? the SAME address that's on my membership profile, my claim, and all the documentation submitted with the claim? And you couldn't mention in your first voice mail message that this was the purpose of your call?
I didn't get upset with the bungled job changing the flat tire, but the call this morning to verify my address at 7:20am put me over the edge. My girlfriend didn't get to sleep till after 2am because I was working late, and then this joker calls at 7:20am with a routine address-verification question.
I've got AAA Roadside Assistance and I've got Geico Roadside Assistance. Guess which one I'll be cancelling? One flat tire should not be this much trouble.
