DINNER. I debated all the way from Chandler where I could grab a bite to eat before the game I was attending. I didn't want to deal with waiters or waiting. I'm mainly a morning Lux patron but today I decided on dinner. I've already had the burger, steak, Mac and cheese etc. today I decided on the Tender Pork Belly BLT and mixed greens.
It was the perfect blend. To start, the artisan bread had flavor. Too often restaurants take for granted sides or basic ingredients. At LUX, if it doesn't improve the dish, they don't use it. No microwave here. Just the right amount of Bacon, Lettuce and Tomato with some type of aoli. This is so important. Some places don't focus on the taste but go for a big huge sandwhich filled with one ingredient over all the others. Well.... my big huge sandwhich blended perfectly without trying to pile it on for looks instead of taste. The vinagarette for the mixed greens is outstanding.
I wasn't in a particularly happy mood upon arrival but the down to earth cashier broke out a smile when he greeted me and changed my demeanor. And a double chocolate chip cookie for dessert.
Overall, I am glad I stopped in and am adding dinner at Lux to my options.
Oh and the cocktails!!!! Excellent. This is a unique place you will not find anywhere else
