| - Sure you could go to Jester on Yonge, but why on earth would you? This place has some of the worst staff members I've ever encountered in my 15 years of going to bars. Good luck getting served if you've had more then 2 drinks. Seriously I've seen the bar tender refuse to serve 2 of my friends on two different occasions, because she said that they were too drunk. In both of these cases my friends were in no way intoxicated, they hadn't slurred their words or seemed drunk in anyway, yet she would not serve them, even though to me, she seemed more drunk then they did.. The last time this happened, I was also refused service and when I asked what she could possibly be basing her decision on , she said "ah, because you're arguing with me". I then told her that there were plenty of bars in the area that would be glad to have my business. She said "Well thats fine go there then," while she was saying this, the waitress asked her if she should call the police. I kid you not, she asked if she should call the police. Now I wasn't drunk, and I'm not one to cause a scene so we just left, and we had a laugh about it afterwards(my friend thought it might have been because he was black, i'm not so sure, but nothing else makes sense about it), however thinking back on it, it's so ridiculous that I just had to post a yelp review about how completely unprofessional they are. Anyway, we left and spent the next 4 hours at the Sports Center Cafe. The SCC is right around the corner on st. clair and is so much better in almost every way. The bar staff is professional and courteous (they won't over-serve you, but at least they know when its appropriate to cut a person off) the drink selection is awesome, the food is great, and it's a super comfortable bar. It really is worth the extra 4 minutes that it would take you to get there. Anyway I'll never be back to The Jester on Yonge, and since I live across the street, I'll take great pleasure from the place slowly going out of business, which as near as I can tell will probably happen within the year.
