| - It's taken me almost two months to review since my visit, and I was wary at first based on other reviewers, but I wish I would have taken the numerous warning signs into consideration before booking an appointment and spending $230 on my hair that is now completely ruined and fried.
It is small but clean and bright inside and the girls working were pleasant and polite. They were easy to talk to throughout my visit. I was taken right away and I was the last appointment of the evening on a Monday night. I had pictures of the stylists work from Instagram and was looking forward to having my black hair balayaged with caramel highlights.
I really love the technique she used because my color is very blended and in the appropriate spots, however it was done with foil and then heat was used - which i believe caused severe damage and breakage to my hair due to over-processing.
For over a week and about 4 washes, my hair still smelled like chemicals. My hair fried off as soon as I touched it with my curling wand. I lost SO much hair every time I showered (I know this is normal after color processing..but this was excessive), I thought I was going to have to chop my nearly waist-length hair. But even all of that isn't enough to cause me to only give two stars, because I realize sometimes things happen - especially when you throw black box dyed hair into the mixture.
My total was $191 for a cut and color. I tipped her $40. I was hoping to get some choppy bad layers from a previous haircut blended. I was told that the layers were much too short for the length of my hair, so she made a few snips and said there wasn't much else she could do because she wanted them to still grow into my layers. She also took a few snips to any stray ends. While I appreciated the cleanup, I hardly considered what she did a trim. After I lost a sufficient amount of hair due to falling out and breaking (sizzling) off, I messaged my stylist with questions to see what I should do about my extreme fried breakage. She suggested that I may have a health problem(???) causing me to lose my hair. Then she said it may have been the products I was using causing the damage, although I have never had an issue in 25 years with any of the products I have ever used in my hair. She mentioned that my hair was extremely healthy at my visit, so she wasn't sure what was going on, and that "it's the worst feeling to have damaged hair!!" She also suggested I go purchase a $45 deep conditioning treatment which I did...and it has done nothing.
I really wanted to love this place and trust me, I have seen some amazing, amazing color results from this salon. Unfortunately, my experience after the fact fell extremely short and my normally silky smooth hair is still frizzy and fried two months and quite a few expensive, at-home deep conditioning treatments later. Bummer.
