  • Wow....these reviews are really unsettling. I have had Dish for almost 15 years, from busy San Francisco to rural Colorado and have essentially been problem free. Occasionally lose service here in the mountains with high winds or heavy rain, but it's usually momentary. Techs are responsive and on-time....last visit, I got a text alert along with a picture of the expected tech. I'm moving to Vegas next week, and sure hoping to continue my Dish service. Other than a somewhat unique problem relating to storing Joeys while we traveled, which I solved by simply ignoring the service rep's 'advice', then reconnecting them when I was ready, I have found Dish to be responsive, with decent pricing and good programming. Oh, and about the review about 'local' channels....that is an FCC decision, not Dish's. We found that out the hard way when we lived half-way between San Francisco and Sacramento. We started out with SF channels {which is what we wanted, since we worked there} and arbitrarily got switched to Sacramento. When I called to complain, I was told FCC had changed the viewing areas and that Sacramento was now considered our 'local' channels and there was nothing we could do to get SF back. Rabid, I called the FCC directly and to my dismay, that was correct. Living in Vegas, that shouldn't be a problem, but when one lives in an in-between area, one may not get the local channels one wants. And Dish has no control over that.....
