  • I booked a business event here a few months ago and wanted to make sure I got my review in. The decor hits you right off with its old school glamour; this isn't your everyday cookie cutter I-could-be-in-California-I-could-be-in-Montana hotel. Honestly, I was extremely wary to book here (the name is called "ho" and it's got big pool parties.. not exactly business oriented) but my people were thrilled. Because it's NOT your normal hotel! The HVH has really mastered the line between funky and professional. Check in: A breeze! Enough small talk to make me feel welcome but was still FAST. As the crew checked in a small lined formed but it went quickly. Rooms: Plenty of counter and drawer space (so much counter space!), although the bathtub in the middle is just weird to me. I was not a fan. I don't take baths in hotels (ew) so I was more worried that I would trip over it at night. It does add a different vibe to the room though! The hotel soaps used are SUPER scented. It just permeates the room. Ground floor rooms like mine open up to open walkways. I kept my curtains C.L.O.S.E.D the whole time because um. Creepy. Bed and pillows, ridic squishy and comfy. The bathroom area CAN be closed off via curtain for privacy which was nice. Great water pressure, no issue with hot water. Doors tend to slam close rather than gently shut.. so those late night arrivals from other rooms were a minor annoyance. Staff: So accommodating! Barely wanted, but when I did they provided. Always someone at the front desk, always helpful. Contract process was a breeze (Shout out to Abigail B! thank you!). A slight mixup as they booked our room to be used after our meeting ended but we didn't know and went over. While we scrambled to get out they accommodated their other booking somewhere else. Some places would have tried to make us feel guilty - they rolled with it and made it work. Patio: extra awesome. Fire pit, comfy seats Food: We didn't order from the restaurant but did cater the meeting. Surprise, I had an unknown vegetarian in the group... bigger surprise, the Hotel had the catered food prepped with a vegi option. I was able to shout out "there is a vegi option if you'd like!" and point to it and look like a hero -- thanks guys! (and it all tasted good too!) Bar: We may or may not have spent an exorbitant amount of money here. Quick service and good drinks. absolutely nothing to complain about! Basically this place was so much fun for my business oriented group I have completely changed around my priorities when searching out hotels for our future events. More fun and less stuffy!
