| - I booked via telephone earlier in the week because budget.ca website was down. I gave all my information including my FastBreak card #, and my choice of Compact car.
I've rented here before, service sure wasn't what I saw today.
I arrived today on the motor coach, and was informed there was no one available to pick me up she's alone unless I waited 20 minutes for someone to come back. So I chose to trudge the 4 blocks with luggage and computer bag in tow. Can't be that bad if it's not snowing or raining, right? Noting beats hitting a crack on the sidewalk and having your luggage ripped out of your hands.
I arrive, the gal behind the counter is, well, not the usual friendly staff I'm used to at my location YE1 downtown Edmonton. Kind of argumentative, more combative might be the word. Well, my reservation wasn't in the system as FastBreak, so all they had left sure wasn't a compact. I was informed that the only car they had left. No option, no offer to contact another location and have a smaller car brought over, which I've had done for me by another company when they didn't have a car suitable for me. Rate $37... wasn't discussed with me if she was giving me the other car at the same/better rate. Just stuffed the paperwork in the envelope, follow me, inspect car. I'm off. I'm hoping that was the rate I booked for, but what do I know. I wasn't about to go back and ask. Deal with corporate later if it isn't.
If only I'd remembered my Car2Go membership card, there were 3 just waiting on the corner across the street & I would have grabbed one of those for 24 hours that I'm here and needed a car.
I'm not sure I would choose this location to rent from again, as the Red Arrow stops at the International Airport, and yes, there's an additional location fee, but the service might just be worth the wee bit more.
