| - I have a Yorkie which is a non shedding type dog n they have extremely small faces that super hard to work with in terms of grooming . I have seen tons ugly Yorkie haircuts on the street but I have had the best luck myself at This location at grooming service by The lady called Mescedes who is the Yorkie Master at this Pet Smart! She does so many Yorkies so it's second nature for her n she frames their faces, chin, ears , jaws everywhere amazingly. I mean like Text book amazing. She literally gives Yorkie a model haircuts! Haircuts r super import at for Yorkies that is what literally frames faces. If they don't get cuts the fur grows to the floor. I have been approached by at least 4 ppl on the street asking me where I got the haircut. They go to downtown locations for $90-100 cut not as cute as mine. It was pure luck we found Mecedes, I live downtown there tons Yorkies I haven't see better haircut all year!
My Yorkie has been getting soo many compliments on how cute he looks ! A lot groomers give genetic trim n does good clean ups around eye n eye brows, n some ppl do good clean up on the face but don't frame the face nice. but this lady really does give a better framing for the face. Yorkies have Hair(like human) Not fur . So they do NOT shed at all! When they r shaved their face is bald like a chiwawa. So all the fluffiness around face , n now the face , ear , back jaw loom is depends SOLELY on the groomer's skill .
They only open till 5 pm so please try to book morning appointments! Because other ppl tend to drop off dogs at same time around lunch! N they tend to rush! (2pm appointment is the Latest app of the day!) they open 7am-5pm) so ur groomer is going to be exhausted all day by time time dealing with yr dog . I have done all 3 visits 1 at 12pm. 2 at 2pm. Only 1 of the 2 pm visit went very late due to we were 15 min late ! Then other dogs before us appointments were dropped off late n they opened up spot for walk in , then the appointment shows up . Then some earlier app took longer because the dog was squirmy so my dog would have to wait bit longer (like hair salon app) .!Things like that happen ! So book as early as possible n do NOt be late! I suggest show up 15 min early is even better because the doggie would jst go back immediately to bath n ready.
It's REQUIRED to bring Vet vaccine file first time, once they r in file no need to bring again.
Other ppl who gave this location a bad review because they have had good experiences in the past but somehow one time they had to wait longer is bit unfair. Because they all have to get bathed n blow dried, nail trimmed , tooth brushed before actual last hair groom. There is about 2 hrs prior pamper before actual hair trim. They do their body n neck trim first , because the noise of trimmer freaks out dogs a lot so they bring them back to relax n trim other dogs . Then bring the dog to front to trim their face n paws later, so they work in rotation in stead of doing the whole body trimming at once! So when they see their dog "barely started" it means the dog was bathed n blow dried already n might have been trimmed at parts. Also if there is delay at back shampooing or blowdrying they can cause front delay also.
I recogmand dropping off yr dog at 9 or 10am on weekends that way he dog gets more detailed cuts n they take time without rushing through.
