The chutes offer a nice group activity in the winter especially if you have kids. Ostensibly, the place was packed with families.
A couple weeks ago, I went for the first for the first time since adolescence and was looking forward to going.
Thanks to adulthood, the toboggan rides were not as exciting for me as they were as I remember them as a child.
To the uninitiated, you carry an 8 foot wooden toboggan up large wooden stairs [it's not as laborious as it sounds] and wait in line [I waited about 20 minutes each time during my last visit]. There's a pair of identical tobaggan chutes. You [and up to 3 others] closely embrace each other and sit on the wooden tobaggan and ride down the straight icy chute around 30 mph for about 10 seconds. You don't get any snow or ice on you either, a plus. Repeat as many times as desired.
There's an indoor chalet with typical concession snacks and a fireplace. Make sure to bring gloves: they're required.
A nice outdoor winter activity [only $8 a person] although I prefer sledding or the slopes.
