  • An unfortunately poorly-run fad. Ice cream is really substandard. They just pour these huge containers of mass-produced "Lactancia Ice Cream Mix" into their machines--I've seen it on multiple locations, they make no secret of it. McDonalds ice cream is much tastier. Their machines are very warm, so the ice cream comes out wet and leaks all over you, can't take it in the car or take cups home, barely frozen at all. It's ridiculously overpriced, too. Service is awful--usually you wait a long time, there's often one employee actually working and the rest either lifting boxes around the whole time or just fooling around with each other or visiting friends (lots of high school kids work here, no work ethic; the few young adults are the only ones that seem to care to do their jobs). Often extremely long lines. Somehow many employees can't even manage to work the registers properly. Credit/debit machines are frequently down, one time they told me they can't even accept cash...not sure why they stayed open. The only saving grace is the chocolate dipping, which is delicious and super thick. Not like the super thin dip at dairy queen, this is serious business. The fondues are great, too--take them home, simply boil them submerged in a pot, no special fondue kit needed; I love the original milk chocolate on my cone in store, and I love the dark chocolate crunchy hazelnut to take home and dip strawberries in from the farmers market. "Overpriced" applies far more to their retail goods than to the ice cream cones themselves--the chocolate bars' pricing must, honestly, be an attempt at some sort of sad joke. The chocolate bars and just about everything aside from the fondue itself is actually pretty bad quality, which is odd as allegedly it's all made from the same fondue...doesn't taste nearly the same, though. Tiny parking lot, too--often no space, and no convenient street parking nearby. Construction in the lot and on the streets behind it makes it a nightmare to enter/exit.
