What a terrible experience! It's sad that the owner is so decorated, but doesn't see that all of his employees follow the same standards. I had the best day planned out on Saturday, starting with a massage at a local spot and then a hair cut and highlights at Sandoval. Unfortunately, the technician treated me as if I had some terrible virus and humiliated me in front of other customers. I don't know if the Scottsdale location has this same problem, but the Phoenix location certainly leaves a lot to desire. The gal who was supposed to do my hair (Rachel) was so rude to me that she left me in tears. I couldn't believe it. As a business manager I would never accept this level of service from any of my employees. The only bright spot was the gentleman who was doing hair next to me. He did his best to sort the problems out. When Rachel asked me what I would like, I tried giving her suggestions. She pointedly stated that I was confusing and didn't know what I wanted, so maybe I should "go home and think about it". What?! really? I had to completely shut down and cower. I told her that I was open to anything she would like to do. I wanted highlights that looked like highlights, maybe a younger look. She then told me "Highlights won't make you LOOK YOUNGER". Really?.....okay......after I was reduced to tears she took me straight to the bin to wash my hair. When I asked if we needed to keep it dry for the highlights, she informed me that we no longer had time for that. Her complete attempt to avoid doing my hair at all cost me time and tears. I would have preferred to get slapped in the face and shoved out the door. At the very least, I would have known where I stood. To add insult to injury the message that I left for the manager was never returned. How's THAT for customer service? There are hundreds of salons in the valley. This salon is not worthy of your money.
