There are few examples of such a perfect cross-section of our modern society than a busy airport Starbucks at Christmas time. After being yelled at by a strung out business man who decided he needed to take over for TSA when our line started lag a bit, I decided to brave the long line snaking out of the little store front for some sugary caffeinated guilty pleasure and a bite sized breakfast sandwich.
I'm glad I did. Ten minutes felt like a very long time to wait when I'm used to light speed transactions, but under those circumstances it really was very fast. The staff were courteous to even the most indecisive of customers and whipped up everyones fairly complex drinks quickly and without any mistakes.
I feel much better typing this now at my gate. Airports during the holidays see people at their worst but friendly people in some of the most stressful service jobs really make a difference. I hope they read this review because they don't go unappreciated!
