| - First off, no, this isn't the same dude from Miami Vice. He's an oral surgeon. A pretty damned good one, in fact. You've probably spotted his picture on that digital sign on Bell Road that rotates out all of the doctors located within that medical plaza around 35th Avenue.
Dr. Johnson was originally referred to me by my dentist after I needed to have my wisdom teeth removed - something I stubbornly put off for about 15 years. And as embarrassing as it may be, he also performed a molar extraction and subsequent dental implant more recently.
Okay. So, there's a reason why this guy comes highly recommended by most people. When you're dealing with these types of invasive procedures, you want a guy who is not only professional, but performs the work with such ease and skill that you'd think he was doing nothing more than giving you a flu shot.
I was sedated during my wisdom teeth removal and molar extraction, but I opted to stay awake for the dental implant. What I originally assumed would be an absolutely horrific procedure that would leave me wincing in pain and discomfort, ending up being no worse than getting a cavity filled.
Recovery time for the wisdom teeth and extraction were understandably a bit rougher, but that's to be expected. He calls at the end of the day to check on how you're doing. No, not the office staff. He calls himself, which other doctors might feel is a task that's "above" their duties.
Prices are in line with what you'd expect at most places. The office staff and assistants are all very easy to deal with. I've never had any issues.
God forbid I ever need another extraction or implant, but if I ever do, there's no way I'd go anywhere else.
Highly recommended!
