| - So....... they held us on the tarmac for 45 minutes because another plane was having mechanical issues while occupying the gate. Because we were connecting from Cancun, the process to get back in the States was longer and even longer waiting for the bag that they made us check in cuz of some dumb souvenir. Basically, had to wait for the bag to check it in again... not sure why it doesn't automatically transfer.
We ran like crazy but when we reached the gate, the plane was just pulling away, boarding agents said the pilots refused to hold the plane. Sucks cuz it left almost forty passengers stranded because of their indecision to let us off on the tarmac, in turn, waiting out our connection time. People were getting really angry at the flight attendant, which made me feel bad for the guy.
Anyway, the pilots' decisions fed the AA customer service agents to the dogs n those poor agents had to deal with shitty attitudes n desperation and finally having to accommodate everyone w hotel stay n breakfast n rebooking their flights for the following day which meant a lot of people missed work. Luckily, we were able to get a flight out first thing in the morning to Santa Barbara Airport instead of LAX, which saved us car rental expense n some energy. Still, my hubs' bag arrived in LAX without him. We notified the AA agents at the check in counter and four days later, the bag was delivered to our door.
They also said they would reimburse other expenses incurred during this inconvenience. We'll see about that.
