  • EVERY PET OWNER'S NIGHTMARE - DO NOT TRUST THEM WITH YOUR ANIMAL OR YOUR MONEY! Imagine being on the other side of the world and your dog is at boarding facility and needs to be seen by a vet (you speak to a female vet and she doesn't seem too concerned just wants to get to the bottom why he is suddenly acting off). You hand them over your credit card- you are charged $1425 and emailed the generic copy of the visa receipt right away. An hour or so later you get a call from a male vet (Dr Hertel) and he tells you your dog has cancer ("in his liver and/or lungs that spread" ). He also tells you that the dog has a "few hours maybe a few days to live". So now you're an emotional wreck & you stay up all night calling friends/family sharing this news and finding a caregiver who is emotionally capable of handling the dog in his final hours. In order for you to fly home it will take you 2 plane changes and you won't make it until 36 hours later. You contemplate forfeiting the rest of your trip at a loss of $6,000 CAD. You just want to say goodbye. You email them asking for a photo of him- email ignored but you are told he is "doing okay". You later find out that CANCER cannot be diagnosed from an x-ray (LIES!). Your dog was NEVER in serious condition that would warrant someone telling you the end was so near. You paid for 12 hours of medical care/oxygen treatment only received 10 hours (but they still ask you for more money). You requested a copy of your invoice THREE TIMES (via email) to see what you paid for- you finally receive it 17 days after the fact after complaining. Other important details have been omitted as this review needs to be short (feel free to contact me). This individual is not even listed as a staff member on their website (the clinic states he has worked for them for years and doesn't want his name/photo online). Use your own judgement. I have spoken to 2 different "managers" and have been given the lip service that the clinic has reviewed its communication policies. I've also been told this vet feels "bad" that he "scared me"?! I am a very reasonable person and have given this clinic 1 month to make things right. I was promised a call back with a resolution by March 23rd and have yet to receive a call back or an email. They truly don't care. STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE! P.S Thankfully our dog is still here and doing great!
