I was surprised to find this trendy coffee shop in Chinatown. I came here with my mom for coffee and hers was extra strong, not something she was used to, but still quite good. She raved about the zucchini muffin and told me I had to try it. She was right (aren't moms always right?); it was moist and delicious. I had a hot chocolate and the pleasant barista made a cute little design on top of it. My exquisitely patterned beverage wasn't hot enough and it was slightly bitter. Guess I've gotten accustomed to Starbucks' sugary sweet hot chocolate drink.
The interior of Dark Horse is large and has a rustic feel to it. A flood of natural sunlight lit up the space beautifully. This was the perfect place to have a hot beverage with my mom on a breezy Sunday afternoon.
