This is the ABSOLUTE WORST experience I have ever had with a tow truck company. My truck is at an auto shop with a blown transmission, that in itself is already a not so fun day. My insurance company dispatched Charity Towing to come pick up me and my vehicle and take us home. I got a text at 3:12 stating that the ETA was 4:42. I got a call at 4:20 saying that my ETA was 25 minutes away. 40 minutes later I am still sitting at the car shop and the tow has not arrived. Since the garage was preparing to close I called back and they said they had no record of my tow on the books and it would be 90 minutes before they got there. I said okay fine, I just wanted to get home....the dispatcher said I did not have to wait with the truck if I didn't want to. I told the owner of the repair shop he could go home and leave me with the truck but THANK GOD he was a gentleman and refused and brought me home. It is now 9:03PM and guess what, my truck is not here. I've called back to Charity and it either goes to voicemail or they don't answer. I now have to spend more money to go back to the auto shop tomorrow to get the truck. This is horrible and I don't recommend that even my worst enemy use this service.
UPDATE:
Rarely ever do I get seethingly angry but today is an exception. I woke up at 5:00AM for work to a missed call from an unknown number that came in around 1AM. I sleep with my ringer off so naturally I didn't hear it. There was not a voicemail left by this caller. After work I went to the auto repair shop thinking that my truck was there and that I would need to just call a different company to get my vehicle, when I arrived they were shocked to see me back as my vehicle was not there. I caught an additional Uber home (more money out of my pocket) and started calling Charity, they would not answer. Finally the same lady I spoke with on the previous day answers and I politely told her I was trying to locate my vehicle. After putting me on hold for nearly 5 minutes she *insert air quotes* claims* that something happened and I got canceled or pushed way back and that they picked my vehicle up at 9:30 PM WAYYYYYYYYYY after the 90 minute quote I was given and tried to deliver but I was not home so they took it to their lot. LIES! I told her I started calling around 8:30/9 and got zero answer and then the phone started going to voicemail. I ALSO explained to her that the only call I got was at 1AM! No one tried to knock on my door or left a note or anything. She stated that normally they would charge me $300 to bring my vehicle because of the distance but she wouldn't charge me any miles, just the tow which is $65. I explained that this was not acceptable as they dropped the ball on more than 1 occasion. All they did was give a $10.00 discount for my Uber fees and that is it. They claim the vehicle will be here by 5PM, that is in 20 minutes and I am very skeptical on that. I wish I could give them negative stars.
