| - Unfortunately, it saddens me that I would have to bump my rating down a notch. This place used to be a great stroll with the family, but that was when the first opened and into the first couple of years when they were new. Over time it has steadily gone down hill. I just paid them another visit yesterday and I have notice some very notorious price scamming behavior that I have seen at other Asian grocery. The sign for purple sweet potato says 89 cent but they come up as 99 cent. Asian pears I bought 3 to try and they said it would be 99 cent on the sign, those came up as 3 for $6?! What is more ridiculous is the persimmons, they are definitely 99 cent a pound, I was charged $1.29, thankfully the persimmons are right next to the cashier, so I just pointed at them, which gave them no excuse but to change it. The cashier didn't even bother to go check on the sweet potato and Asian pears, she just asked her pears on the next isle, that is very unprofessional to go by the word of mouth. You have to be very careful here and check your receipt.
They started selling yesterday's bread here, their bread usually run around $1.20 or so each, they are selling their yesterday's bread in a lot of 5 at once for $4.99. OK, that is still $1 per bread and those bread did not look fresh at all, and the options are very unhealthy.
The most economical option here remains the rice boxes $7.99 with 3 entree options, but what sucks is you have to get steamed rice, though it comes with a soup, nothing fancy just egg drop or hot and sour.
The grocery option here has gone down over time, the prices are not as competitive as the Korean counterpart G mart on E independence Blvd.
