| - There is a reason as to why the line is always short no matter the day or celebration, ladies and gentlemen.
When I first came across Wicked Spoon, I had heard tremendous raves about their dessert bar. Walking for what seemed like forever to me from the entrance of the Cosmopolitan to the buffet, my family ultimately decided against it because they didn't want to pay the extra $5 difference from the Bellagio buffet to which we're accustomed to eating at. Plus, there was virtually no line which is usually an indication of the food's quality.
This time, I had convinced my friends to pay almost ~$37/person for dinner to come with me. After paying, we lined up for about 20 minutes for a table. The line wasn't long, but it was Veteran's Day weekend which had me thinking to myself that either we were extremely lucky to find no lines again or the buffet just wasn't worth the $$$.
Because it's the Cosmopolitan, I was in awe with the decorations and how much space was given to us. I snapped photos of everything! The food was beautifully presented, but because some of their portions were put into tiny pots, the plates filled up fast. I picked up 3 plates - a little bit of everything on each plate. NOTHING (and I mean NOTHING) appealed to my taste because everything was either bland or disgusting. I don't understand. How could such pretty dishes be so plain? The only thing I slightly enjoyed was the shrimp cocktail which came in a teeny tiny plastic cup. Cute, but not very convenient seeing as how I had to take ~6 of those tiny shot glasses to satisfy my craving. I gave up on the food and headed to the dessert bar with high expectations. I'm not going to lie and say that the desserts were amazing because they weren't, but they were a-okay. All the little shot glasses filled with pretty colors and designs were appealing to the eye but not so much for my tongue. That night, they had a lot of sour selections. I hate sour! The gelato selection was definitely on the spot though, and my favorite had to be the Oreo! You order with the lady, and she scoops you up a generous portion of whatever you'd like ranging from Coffee to Mint Chocolate. I wish I had the guts to go up and order EVERYTHING...twice! But I didn't want to look like a fatass. The donuts are also worth a try; they're not located at the dessert bar though. They came in an adorable metal basket, dusted lightly with sugar, and they were fluffy on the inside.
Order the cranberry juice! It's utterly delicious, and it was the brightest red I've ever seen. If you don't like it, you can always order something else.
If it weren't the great service from our waiter, I would've only given Wicked Spoon a 2 star rating given its price.
