I had been to Wigle last fall for a tasting and to enjoy the food truck parked outside, but recently my husband and I went on a Saturday morning distillery tour and it completely wowed me. I will start this review by saying that I'm pretty apathetic about whiskey in general, so I actually don't have any idea about the quality of their. I assume it was good, as everyone around me seemed to think so. But the tour and the atmosphere were just superb. A long-time volunteer led the tour, which started with everyone receiving a cocktail (which was included in the ticket price). We sipped and learned about the history of the whiskey rebellion and about how Wigle makes their spirits. There were five tastings, two during the tour and three afterwards, seating at the tables in the tasting area. All were very good, and we could doctor our tasters up with ice, water, or their house bitters - very impressive. The whole thing ran like clockwork and even when one tour member (who seemed to already be drunk at 11am....) got rowdy and annoying, the tour guide took it in stride. I'm already planning to take friends on this tour when then come to visit. Highly recommend!
