"All are welcome here", the mantra. Release your inner joy and let loose in a judgment free world of tolerance.
No one will call you a slut for your choice of pasties and skimpiest thong. PDA with your same sex partner? Heck yeah! 20 pounds overweight and wanna rock that tight spandex tank top and leopard print banana hammock? Go for it. Don the LED rimmed shades, and glow in the dark gloves. Load up on Kandi bracelets and share them with others. "Peace, love, unity, and respect".
The largest music festival / spectacle in North America! Get ready to party with 135,000 of your newest friends. An LED forest of trees, glowing mushrooms, human flowers and birds, oh there goes giant, glowing Inky, Blinky, Pinky, and Clyde, fountains, lasers, pyrotechnics, and fireworks. Pop culture meets steampunk slammed into an anime dreamworld. Oh and the greatest lineup of EDM DJ's you'll ever see in one location performing on multiple stages. And yes, there are rides; it is a carnival right?
Just go. You need to experience it to understand.
18+ general, 21+ for VIP sections
Tip: Unless you've got tons of stamina, check the lineup and pick ONE night to go. Spirit willing but your body won't handle more.
Important:
- It's HOT. Very very hot. Dress for it. You will sweat so much, you and your clothes will become one.
- It will be the hardest cardio workout of your life (esp if you hookup with ladies who jump non stop for an entire set! They will force you to join in).
- Drink (water). Although no outside water or hydroflasks allowed, purchase disposable bottles (recommended if you wanna keep your hands free) or an official Insomniac bottle and use the free filling stations.
Do:
- Purchase VIP passes. Much shorter lines to get in, shorter lines for to refill water, more activities (retro arcade very cool), more places to sit and catch your breath.
- Do shell out for the Marquee Skydeck. Best view of the Kinetic field (main stage). Reserved tables, bottle service and loads of amenities. First year experiencing this and well worth it.
-Book an authorized VIP shuttle or official limo for transport and be dropped off close to the entrance. Better yet, book a chopper. Maverick's chopper service is outstanding. Strip to EDC in no time at all. Great views of the Strip on the way out. The helipad has clear access. Sure, it's kind of baller ($5k charter - 7pax max or $850 single RT) but after using the service for the past two EDC's the time and aggravation saved not sitting in traffic and finding parking is worth it.
-Check the website so you don't bring restricted items.
*Use deodorant!!! Don't make your new friends pass out.
Surreal. It's cool to be a member of humanity instead of a label ridden individual even if for just 10 hours.
