  • As part of my college program, I have to go on a tour of the brewery, then I am tested on the contents of the tour. its due in 2 weeks. I thought this would be enough time to get one, half an hour, tour booked in. Although it is difficult, as they open late, close early and get full very quickly. I work and go to school so theres not many times where I am free to go. I have a free ticket included with my college fees, so I was unsure about pressing Book, online as I thought it would want payment details. So I rang them and it doesnt, but when I went back online to book the tour, the places were full. they only except 10 people per tour. So I rung them back up and the very helpful lady on the phone said that they also keep 5 places for walk ins and if I ring the morning of, I could put my name down for a spot. Which was awesome, exactly what I wanted to hear. however this obviously wasnt made aware to all staff members, as when I rung on the morning of, I got a rather abrupt "No, we dont do that." there was absoloutley no customer service skills shown at all in this phonecall. I then re rung, asked for a complaints department. And what would you know! I was somehow squeezed on to the afternoon's 'full' tour. *************** The actual brewery itself is awesome! Im not a big beer drinker, but the one beer they serve is delicious. Before id even sorted out my ticket, they gave me a taster of the beer, and was constantly handed more through out the tour. The tour guide (wish i could remeber his name) was great. He was enthusiastic, extremely knowledgable and fun. He made the tour interesting, relatable and a lot more fun than i thought it would be. I think its because this place is so casual, friendly and laid back, that they obviously dont deal with many people over the phone and are best with face to face communication. Because this 'full tour' I was squeezed on, had 2 other people in..... That was it. So I don't know why they made such faff over getting me on it. Because the 2 other tours I saw leave while i was there, had over twenty people on.... Very highly regulated amount of people I see So much for "we only take 10 and you cant walk in" What difference does 2 more people make when you are that far over the limit?? Excellent, insightful tour. Really knowledgable guides. Not so great guest service skills All in all, great day out
