  • We adopted a dog from this facility in the beginning of December. He showed a lot of signs of being tired and the "vet" they had on site told us it was probably due to the neutering he had 4 days prior. We proceeded to adopt him with all good word from their "professionals." After a week in our care the dog had been screaming in pain and acting very unlike a young dog with no energy at all!!! Took him to the vet to find he had neck pain and nervous system issues that were effecting his muscles and walking. We had X-rays run to rule out injured neck and spine, and then had tests run for other diseases. Tests came back very positive with Valley fever. After a grand in vet bills and lots of different meds he seemed to be ok up until just recently. He now had hot spots and skin issues all over his body leading in lots of blood and hair loss. So we returned to our vet to have him treated for hot spots and 100$ later we are beyond our savings and in debt with a rescued dog!!! We will be returning the dog to the SPCA today and they will hear an earful about how their vet was a complete moron to not think his skin and lethargy was an issue! Do not adopt from them without asking for VF tests first! Because now we are out $1100 and a $200 dog.
