| - Well, I discovered another scam at this location. Pep Boys have a coupon on the their website $20.00 off on Synthetic oil change from their regular price $69.99 but if you don't pay attention they will over charger you.
On Wednesday 11/9/2016 I came to this location for the $49.99 full Synthetic special but they present it me with a bill for $86.88 so I asked why the so much different in price, we'll I was told "you SUV is not a 5 qt car is 6 qt" so I did the number $86.88 - 20.00 = $66.88.
So again I asked why I was paying over $14.00 for a qt of synthetic oil and the young men behind the counter started to get upset because he just go busted doing his scam.
I have my vehicle user manual downloaded into my cellphone and when I pulled to show him my vehicle only takes 5qt, he didn't want hear it.
I was so lucky to have my vehicle manual available on my cellphone, if not you know which way this would have gone.
He has also offered a fuel treatment $9.99, will you guess how much he was charging me for the that fuel treatment , we'll after taxes $26.74.
One more time I asked what he was putting in my fuel system, he show me a bottle that cost $4.99 now let me tell you all you have to do is put it yourself in the gas tank, course I was not leaving without asking again why the big difference in price and that is when he lost it.
My point is before you sign you estimate, look to see what is that you are actually getting charged, these guys are here to make money for the store and these guys are not your friends, they will take advantage of you if you let them.
Good luck finding an honest mechanic, they all work on incentives, another word on uneducated consumers brings big commissions.
