| - I like this church. It's nondenominal Christian. I had to find a new church cause the church I was going to closed. WAHHHH!!! It was a Free Methodist church. I was raised in the First Baptist church. Didn't want to return to a First Baptist. Some of the beliefs of the Free Methodist I don't agree with; therefore, thought I'd check out other types. I visited a few. This church is REALLY, REALLY friendly. People greet us at the door, and when church is over, people are mingling and are friendly and will talk to a stranger (that's me).
Pastor Chris' message is dynamic, animated, and holds one's interest. There is music at the start with anywhere from five to seven people performing and singing. Communion is every Sunday. There are two Sunday services: 9:00 and 10:30, and they are going to add a third Thursday at the end of August, which is the fourth Thursday of the month.
The pastor and his group of elders are coming up with some good ways and ideas of growing the church. There are a lot of children, which is something my former church lacked. Granted, I understand there were a lot of families a couple of generations ago (at my former church,) but that changed. And the demographics of the location changed as well. Being involved and on the board and committees of my former church, we were trying to grow the church, and we thought we could only do that with bringing families in. So I give Chris and his elders a lot of credit.
And as an extra bonus, they have a little refreshment area where they serve lots of really great donuts and fresh brewed coffee, orange juice and water. Can't go wrong with that, that's for sure!
So I'm thinking I found a new place to listen to the message of Jesus.
