  • The Blue Moon is essentially one really long open room, but with several different sections. The first thing you see upon entering the pub is the huge circular bar that surrounds the trophy case-like display of liquor bottles. Aside from the well stocked bar, a large number of drafts are also available. The seating in this front part is a little too well lit for my personal preferences, but patrons parked at the bar probably prefer the use of beer goggles over dim lighting anyhow. A little further in, several pool tables provide some friendly fun. For those who'd like to sit and have a chat, there's a choice between tables and chairs on an elevated platform and cocktail high tops with bar stools right next to the dance floor. The exposed brick wall and grafitti give this part of the space great character. The stage in the very back is where entertainment such as musical acts and live performances take place. It's elevated, but fully accessible for those who want to show off their sexiest dance moves. Despite not having any of those, it was amazing to be able to just walk right up to meet Eugene Hutz while he was doing a DJ set after the Gogol Bordello show recently. Blue Moon is a good pub, but best when there is an event going on. The larger (but not too large) capacity usually fills up with a diverse mix of people and everyone there is always up for a good time.
