| - Wow. Absolutely beautiful ambiance. Located in "St. Marks Square" you get the amazing ambiance of the open square, the entertainers, the gorgeous lighting, and the "alfresco" feeling. Next best thing to actually being in Italy.
The bread basket is good. Nothing crazy special, but tasty. My fave was the olive roll. The food was also very tasty and well prepared. The star dishes being the pastas.
Pasta trio (5/5 stars): rigatoni Bolognese, pear and Gorgonzola ravioli, and pesto gnocchi. All the pastas tasted very fresh, light, flavorful, and satisfying. Gnocchi can be hard to get right sometimes, but this one was perfect.
Mushroom risotto (4/5 stars): my husband said this was one of the best risottos he's had. It was a bit too sauce heavy for me, but good overall.
Veal (2/5 stars): my dad got this and hated it. He said it was tasteless and not enough sauce.
Mushroom spaghetti (3.5/5 stars): a simple but still delicious dish. Again, the pastas are where they shine!
Chicken (3.5/5 stars): a bit on the drier side, but great flavor that made up for it. A little bit spicy!
Overall, a nice option in the Grand Canal Shoppes. The food won't blow you away, but it's good, and the ambiance will blow you alway.
