BYS was the first yoga studio that I went to in Pittsburgh and experienced the true bliss that is restorative yoga and the glorious open space with high ceilings and bright light streaming in from the high windows that overlook East Carson Street. The space is beautiful, very welcoming, and has great energy. Every instructor that I've encountered there for individual classes or workshops has been phenomenal and kind. I have some minor physical limitations and the instructors have always been attentive to my needs and shown me how to modify my stances or positions to make them more comfortable for my body. It's not a designer yoga studio - it's a studio for real yogis and those seeking to learn yoga and improve their health without the snobbishness that can be found at some other studios in the city. If you are going and have any physical limitations, please know that one must climb two long, somewhat steep flights of stairs to get to the 3rd floor studio - the stairways are wide and there are railings to hold on to, but it's good to know this ahead of time if you have mobility issues, however, I highly recommend it because the studio, instructors, and classes (or workshops) have always been worth the climb. Beautiful, relaxing space - I highly recommend this studio for all levels of physical fitness for yoga classes in Pittsburgh.
