  • My mom brought her perfectly healthy, very gentle yorkie mix here on Saturday to get groomed. This was their second visit here, as she was very pleased with the first groomer's work and Baxter was very happy too. She couldn't get the same groomer as last time, but they told her they had their "best" groomer available for the day she wanted so she said agreed to bring him in. There were absolutely NO problems when she brought him here in June and she asked for the same thing as "last time". Sadly, that did not happen. This time, when she picked him up the groomer showed her what looked like a scrape on his skin and showed her a red spot under his harness. It was kind of dark and my mom said she'd keep an eye on it. It was also very hard to see unless you actually lifted his fur up to look at it. The next day I was petting him and he yelped and I felt something sticky on his right side. We looked, and a piece of his skin looked like it was ripped right off of him. My mom called them and they told her it was " common" and that he probably had a matt and that's why it happened. Are you freakin' kidding me?! My mom brushes him every day and takes good care of him and he did not have a matt. Even if he did, shouldn't they take precautions if this is so "common"? The woman she spoke to made her feel as if she should have expected this or something. Not once in the three times my mom spoke to them, did anyone apologize. Who in the hell drops their dog off to be groomed and thinks " Maybe they'll injure him when trimming him so I hope he doesn't have a matt". My mom feels horrible about this and if she'd known something like this would have happened to her sweet pup she would NEVER have dropped him off there. We've had pets groomed at other places and not once have any of them been injured. Stay away from this place unless you don't care if they injure your pet, cause it pain, and then try to blame you for it. Update: So my mom went there last night (09/20/17) to show then Baxter's wounds and the manager actually had the gall to ask her why she didn't bring him back for a bath on Sunday, so they "could have helped make him feel better" as if she'd done something wrong in not bringing him back there.. She told them because she didn't trust them, and they are NOT qualified vets. Then the manager said that "when this happened" to her dog, the groomer called her in to "look at it" and they put some salve on it. They DID NOT tell my mom this until last night!. All the groomer said was that he had a scrape and showed my mom one little spot, when there were actually several "scrapes" but they were underneath his fur and he was wearing his harness, which was covering them up. They knew damn well they had injured him. They also discouraged my mom from bringing him to the vet right away and said to bring him there first. Tell me that's not fishy......
