Just bought some white linen for sewing curtains, and true to the store's name, I got a good price. It seems if you pay in cash, sometimes they don't charge you tax. I don't know if I was dealing with the owner or not, but the guy I was dealing with had final-price-authority, and he was really nice. He went looking for cheaper options for me in the bins out front, and gave me a big free sample of blue burlap so I could see if it's washable.
While I was there an interesting mix of people came in, and he treated all equally. I'm always tickled by the variety of people who sew. Among the customers were two men who came in separately, both looking embarrassed to be there (what, are men not allowed to sew?). He chatted with them both & put them at ease.
