| - I usually do not get too fussy about hotels as long as they are functional and clean but honestly this Intercontinental needs help. First, do not confuse this with the other intercontinental on Cleveland Clinics campus, they are definitely not the same.
My bf and I stayed one night due to an unexpected surgery of a family member. You'd think a hotel that's so close to a hospital would have more friendly staff but they do not. The night receptionist was just ok, but the morning reception had a terrible attitude including eye rolling when you asked for directions to the clinics main building.
Next, the rooms need a major update. The sink did not drain, the shower knob was on backwards (hot was cold and cold was hot), there were scuffs and stains on walls and furniture, and there was someone else's hair in the shower. Only good thing was the bed and pillows were comfortable.
Next, the parking and valet situation was horrendous. Self parking is two blocks away. We typically like to self park because we have a manual which some valets do not know how to drive but given it was late at night / distance away we decided to let the valet park our car. First, it will take forever to get your car, you will be waiting. Second, when our car was returned to us the radio was turned up loudly (off when we left it with the valet) and there seemed to be more mileage on the car than when we dropped it off.
Finally, the only positive I can give this hotel was the bellman seemed to be working very hard and was extremely friendly. We had to wait several minutes for him to take our bags but he was hustling to help everyone. The same can't be said for all the other staff I encountered during my stay.
I will not be returning to this hotel.
