  • Cut steakhouse located in the Palazzo hotel and casino in Las Vegas, NV. Has had great reviews in the past and also came recommended from associates that I know. Pricing is steep and will hit your wallet hard however when you are in Vegas then you are better off using your money for food than gambling. With that mind, and I do not gamble much, I decided to eat my money instead of gambling it. We made reservations for a 9:00PM Table and were seated on time. The atmosphere is very trendy and had enough class to celebrate a very special event. Our special event was caused by the money that was burning a hole in my pocket. I'd rather put that money on a dining table than on a blackjack table. Cut Steakhouse seemed to be the spot to do just that. I started with a Lobster Bisque soup and it was as good as it can be in any other world class restaurant. It didn't taste anything special or out of this world however it was delightful and got my appetite going. As always, we ordered a bottle of Cabernet and began to set ourselves up for a feast. We had some appetizers as well and for the life of me I can't remember (Six months ago) and therefore I conclude that the appetizer portion was not memorable. Just before ordering the main course, they bring out all these cuts of meat on a well decorated food cart so that you can get an idea of what you will actually be eating should you order from what was displayed. Nice touch and very few restaurants do this. The other one that comes to mind is Shula's Steakhouse in Pennsylvania. So, you see all these cuts of meat right in front of you and that got my juices flowing. From that dog and pony show, I was expecting my main course to literally come from out of this world. I ordered a dry aged bone in Ribeye steak and asparagus. We continued sipping from our respective glasses of wine and were mentally and tastefully prepared to devour what lay ahead of us. Our order showed up in a timely manner and I began to eat. The steak tasted good but it was NOT great. It was not from out of this world however it was in line with most fine steakhouses. The hype on this steakhouse was so great that this place falls short in meeting your expectations as far as food is concerned. I urge everyone to go to the Cut Steakhouse however I must also add that if you eat at a fine dining place on a regular basis then your expectations will be greater than what Cut Steakhouse can meet.
