We have enjoyed food tours in other cities and were equally pleased with this one in Old Montreal. Our guide, Robert, was knowledgeable about the city and took us to some wonderful local food establishments we might not have visited otherwise. For example, we sampled a healthy BLT in a historic bank and refilled our water bottles with ice cold water. Robert surprised us with an ice cream (creme glace) cone in le Petit Depanner (a high-end convenience store). One related aspect of doing a small tour is meeting others and in our group was a couple from Paris and a young TV reporter from Australia who had quit her job to travel around the world for a year.
Altogether the tour was an interesting and delicious three hours spent in an incredibly beautiful and safe city. It was not just a food tour, but a cultural, historical, and social event.
