Blue Hound has been on my list for a while now. Finally got to get down here and have some food and drinks.
It's on the second level just above Squid Ink. The place was 70% empty on a Friday night so it really wasn't the best sign. We were seated by the windows in the back corner and had our own little private booth.
The decor and ambiance is very sleek. Felt like a really cool place to hang out.
Our waitress was polite and took our drink and app order. I got a whiskey sour with egg white. My wife ordered a moscow mule. We also ordered the corn grit fries and shishito peppers.
The corn grit fries were excellent. They were really nothing like fries. They were more like cheese tater tot sticks. The bacon and cheese in them was very tasty. The weird part was the sauce that came with them. It was almost like a marinara sauce. It really didn't go with the flavor of the cheesy tater tot sticks at all.
The shishito peppers were also excellent. And the sauce with them was perfect. I'd order these again in a heartbeat.
The drinks were good but awfully short and not worth 14 bucks a pop.
We split a kale salad as we were going to head to another spot nearby to have some food and drinks and didn't want to blow all our appetite here. The kale salad was okay for me and my wife loved it.
Overall Blue Hound was good and in a great location with good service but I'm thinking this is more of a place to come during happy hour as it was a bit pricey for just our couple apps and drinks.
